Enhancing brand expression and implementation

For more than 3 years I was Digital Lead at mark-making*, a design agency based in Chipping Norton. In this senior role I was responsible for the strategy and delivery of websites, email campaigns and other digital projects such as interactive exhibition stands.

Project management to technical procurement

I managed both internal and external teams, liaising directly with established clients such as Nationwide, Aldermore and The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and ambitious companies such as Preservica and Clearview Intelligence. I created a company workflow toolkit and led internal workshops to introduce new processes to work efficiently with UI pattern libraries and design systems.

Interactive exhibition stand app for Nationwide Building Society

Led on the delivery of interactive iPad stand for Nationwide Building Society. A web application, iKiosk Pro and associated hardware has been used successfully at a number on industry events.

This web app replicated the “choose a charity to donate to” coin model found in supermarkets. Attendees at industry events can find out more about the company’s community work and choose a cause highlighted on an iPad kiosk. Results are collated on a web server and results updated on a separate large screen.

Every event at around the country had different charities and Craft CMS drove the back-end management. A custom plugin was developed for the live vote share.

This was a challenging multi-disciplinary project that took in branding, user experience, prototyping, back-end development, hardware procurement plus guides for stand exhibitors to setup without expert help.

These larger website projects ran in conjunction with with a rebrand process. As project manger leading development I facilitated user workshops to identify key journeys and desired outcomes. A detailed site and content structure was developed to enable successful deployment and post-launch campaigns.

Strategies for campaigns that are consistent across all outlets with flexible landing page options are crucial that they are clearly presented so all stakeholders are engaged.

Email Templates

A set of email templates for communications including Newsletters, magazine style articles and ticket booking with personalised user content. A consistent, content led UI framework applied to user editable templates in Mailchimp was delivered working with an external specialist and iterated with real world A/B tests and feedback.

Oversaw the development of consistent UI component and code libraries for use in Adestra, Mailchimp and bespoke industry services. Including Aldermore, Amicus, Paystream plus a comprehensive suite of campaign templates for Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust.

Content planning, migration and project management

Most projects benefit from a content audit and planning stages, particularly where many internal and external interests and stakeholders are involved. Timescales become stretched over the course of projects... Having a baseline content and functional specification helps projects stay on course and timescales on track and reviewed.

Planning sessions with key stakeholders with any project is crucial to how projects and planned and managed - revealing expectations and biases in a more informal setting.
