The Tiger Who Came to Tea

Freeloading White Space Tiger

The most popular book in our house right now with an almost-2-year-old is The Tiger Who Came to Tea by Judith Kerr. This along with the Tales from Acorn Wood series by Julia Donaldson (Author) and Axel Scheffler (Illustrator) share a common theme that has only just struck me and it’s so obvious.

It’s not just about great stories, I don’t need to elaborate and you can draw your own conclusions - but it’s the use of white space.

Also, well loved in our house. Once you get bored of reading it I heard the trick is to imagine the Mum in the role of depressed alcoholic.
